This degree focuses on the ever-evolving field of renewable energy, and its applications to a range of processes.

Renewable Energy Engineering core units (144 credit points) + Elective units (24 credit points) + Professional elective units (12 credit points) + General Education elective units (12 credit points) = 192 credit points

Students will study the foundations of Engineering, including Mathematics, Physics and Computing, and at the same time will look at a number of renewable energy generators, such as: photovoltaics, wind turbines and solar thermal systems. Students will study the specifics of renewable energy technology, and will also look at solar architecture and how smart urban design can be a source of renewable energy itself. At the end of the final year, students will submit and present a small thesis on Renewable Energy Engineering. Students will also be required to complete 60 days of extracurricular industrial experience, submitting a report at the end.

Assumed knowledge: Mathematics Extension 1, Physics and/or Chemistry, and any 2 units of HSC English (Mathematics Extension 2, Engineering Studies, Software Design and Development, Information Technology and Biology are recommended).
